The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the European Council Charles Michel during his working visit to Brussels.

The parties coordinated their positions before the sixth summit of the Eastern Partnership. The Ukrainian head of state stressed the importance of defining the strategic goals of the Eastern Partnership, in particular the relations between the European Union and the countries of the Associated Trio.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy stressed that Ukraine’s strategic goal in relations with the European Union is to gain full membership. In view of this, our state expects the EU to recognize Ukraine’s European perspective.
President of Ukraine informed Charles Michel about the development of the security situation along Ukraine’s borders. The leaders agreed on the need to continue working together to prevent the conflict from escalating. Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed hope that the results of the European Council meeting scheduled for December 16, EU leaders will send clear signals to the Russian Federation.
To remind, on December 15-16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy pays a working visit to Brussels to participate in the VI Eastern Partnership Summit.
