During his working visit to Germany, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

The President informed Scholz about the situation on the front lines and the consequences of Russia’s missile terror against Ukrainian civilians and critical infrastructure.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Olaf Scholz for all the comprehensive support, especially military aid, that Ukraine has received since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion.

“Thank you for ensuring that these supplies remain consistent. This is crucial. It is the foundation of our successful fight for Ukraine’s independence. Thank you for your leadership in strengthening our air defense, which is saving Ukrainian lives,” said the President.

The Ukrainian leader highlighted that the German government has ordered additional air defense systems of various configurations to strengthen the Armed Forces and mentioned the decision to provide Ukraine with additional Panzerhaubitze 2000 self-propelled howitzers and Leopard 1A5 tanks, announced at the Ramstein format meeting.

The leaders also discussed the implementation of a bilateral security agreement and potential areas for expanding defense cooperation, including joint weapons production.

Special attention was given to the implementation of the Peace Formula. Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked Olaf Scholz for his personal participation in the inaugural Peace Summit. The parties discussed the implementation of its decisions and preparations for the second Summit.
