Andriy Parubiy, the chairman of Verkhovna Rada, the unicameral parliament of Ukraine, announced that the Rada is ready to change the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine.
The Verkhovna Rada will consider the dismissal of the current governor, Valeriya Gontaryeva, and the appointment of Yakov Smolii on March.1.
“In addition to the dismissal of the governor of the National Bank of Ukraine, I will initiate the issue of social protection for military servicemen and the physically challenged. On Thursday, I will initiate the consideration of issues of information policy and parliamentary reform,” Parubiy said.
As for the appointment of the new members of the Central Election Commission, Parubiy said that the documents have been submitted for special verification. He expects that this issue will be on the agenda on March 12.
