Adequate funding for reintegration projects, human-centeredness, cooperation with the media, education and employment of young people from the temporarily occupied territories. These areas will become priorities for the new Deputy Prime Minister, Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories Iryna Vereshchuk. Her appointment on November 4 was supported by the Verkhovna Rada with 260 votes for, UA reports.

On the sidelines of the Verkhovna Rada, she told reporters that an agency would soon be set up under the Ministry of Reintegration, which would purposefully deal with the formation of registers, and then – the preparation of lawsuits.

“We, as a relevant ministry, must gather all the information, gather it, so that later, when lawyers file lawsuits and form a political, consolidated position of the state, they have information, facts that are not lost. This is a state approach” – Vereshchuk commented.

She said that she is currently gathering information and studying the situation in Donbas, in particular, what problems communities have. And she announced her visit to Donbas, which will take place next week.

“We need to demonstrate and do everything to make people feel that our state needs them. Regardless of where they come from – Lviv, Kramatorsk or Donetsk, Luhansk. We are all Ukrainians. We have our own state, for which we must fight and hold on. And here the “soft power of reintegration” will help us. I’m talking about reintegration, because deoccupation is a different strategy” – the minister said.

Vereshchuk noted that the new position is a great responsibility, and thanked everyone who supported.

“It is a great responsibility, and I thank you for your trust. We will work. I promise to inform the media in order to reach people in the temporarily occupied territories. I know how necessary and important the media are in the reintegration process, when we talk about the humanitarian aspect” – summarized Vereshchuk
