The Pentagon has revealed that the U.S Army has signed a multi-year $4,5 billion contract securing highly-valuable PAC-3 Patriot missiles.

That’s according to Reuters.

The media reports that the contract covers 870 PAC-3 MSE missiles and as well as some hardware.

“This multiyear contract award for the PAC-3 MSE missile follows through on the Army’s commitment to stabilize and expand our production capability for this critical weapon system, which is vital to supporting the US Army and Joint Force, along with Ukraine and other allies around the world” emphasized Douglas Bush, the Army’s Assistant Secretary for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology.

PAC-3 missiles are an edge-cutting technology that can destroy tactical ballistic missiles, and the US has been delivering it to Ukraine.

Previously, the US claimed the state would halt all its Patriot missiles orders to meet Ukraine’s demand first.
