The United States will provide one million dollars to the International Centre for the Prosecution of the Crime of Aggression Against Ukraine (ICPA) in The Hague, which documents Russian crimes in Ukraine. The ICPA was established in The Hague with the support of the European Commission.

This was stated by the U.S. Department of State.

“As Russia continues to blatantly violate international law, and as President Putin’s war on Ukraine continues to result in extraordinary suffering, the United States remains focused on working with Ukraine and the international community to hold accountable those responsible for international crimes committed in Ukraine,” the statement said.

According to the statement, ICPA will continue its investigation into Russia’s aggressive war, providing Ukraine and partner countries with a platform for cooperation to create “key evidence” for future legal proceedings.

Currently, prosecutors from various legal systems are already working at ICPA with the goal of conducting effective and independent investigations.

“The United States is proud to stand with Ukraine and our international partners in reiterating our commitment to upholding the UN Charter and pursuing justice for the crime of aggression,” the statement emphasized.

It is worth noting that ICPA also collaborates with the International Criminal Court, which is already investigating war crimes and crimes against humanity and genocide. In March, the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Vladimir Putin and Russian official Maria Lvova-Belova for the mass transfer of Ukrainian children from Ukraine to Russia.

Earlier, The Gaze reported that the independent international investigative commission on Ukraine informed the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva about newly documented crimes committed by Russians on Ukrainian territory.

This list of crimes included the rape of women aged 19 to 83 by Russian soldiers in the occupied territory of the Kherson region, Ukraine, as well as numerous cases of torture and persecution of Ukrainian citizens.
