US House Speaker Mike Johnson says Ukraine should be allowed to decide how to wage the war against the aggressor.

This was reported by Kateryna Lisunova from Voice of America on X.

“I think we need to allow Ukraine to prosecute the war the way they see fit. They need to be able to fight back, and I think us trying to micromanage the effort there is not a good policy for us, – House Speaker Mike Johnson said on May 22.

In April, Speaker Johnson changed his stance on Ukraine aid and pushed through a $60 billion Ukraine aid package along with aid for Israel and Taiwan.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba made a statement that striking military targets in Russia would facilitate the end of the war.

Also, the Institute for the Study of War reported that the U.S. ban on Ukrainian forces using U.S.-made weapons for strikes within Russia is severely compromising Ukraine’s ability to defend itself against Russian offensive operations in the north of the Kharkiv region.
