The White House hopes that the US will be able to regain leading position in supporting Ukraine as it repels Russian aggression.

This was stated by National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications, John Kirby during his trip to West Palm Beach, Florida and issued on the White House website.

“We’re hopeful — still hopeful, the President is, that we’re able to get this supplemental funding and we can go back to being the world’s leader in supporting Ukraine,” the White House official claims.

He also notes he understands why some leaders doubt the US leadership, considering “what’s going on on Capitol Hill” and can’t blame them.

“You can hardly blame other leaders around the world from thinking about what other decisions they have to make now based on the uncertainty that the United States is going to be able to come through,” he says.

Another US official, Antony Blinken, also admitted the US is now in a difficult position which has already impacted the course of events on the battlefield.

“And we are now currently out of the military assistance that we’ve been providing to Ukraine and we’re even seeing some evidence of what that means on the battlefield,” said Blinken during his press conference with Jens Stoltenberg on January 30.

Later, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg met with US House Speaker Mike Johnson and other members of Congress in Washington to discuss support for Ukraine.
