US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says lifting restrictions on the use of US-provided weapons for Ukraine is another ‘adjustment’ to the war and Russia’s actions.

US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said this after a NATO ministerial meeting in Prague, according to European Pravda.

“Our support for Ukraine over the years has been adjusting to what Ukraine needs. We will continue to adapt and adjust. We will provide Ukraine with the weapons it needs,” Blinken said.

During his visit to Moldova on May 29, US politician had alreadyt made a very similar statement, though the position of the US was not very clear then.

“We haven’t encouraged or enabled strikes outside of Ukraine, but Ukraine, as I’ve said before, has to make its own decisions about the best way to effectively defend itself […] And another hallmark of our support for Ukraine over these now more than two years has been to adapt. As the conditions have changed, as the battlefield has changed, as what Russia does has changed in terms of how it’s pursuing its aggression, escalation, we’ve adapted and adjusted too, and I’m confident we’ll continue to do that,” US State Secretary said during a joint press conference with Moldovan President Maia Sandu.

Previously, Ukraine confirmed that the US had given its permission to use its weapons against military sites inside Russia.

“It will significantly boost our ability to counter Russian attempts to mass across the border,” Serhii Nykyforov, spokesman for President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, told The Guardian.

Also, POLITICO reported that Biden gave Ukraine “quiet” approval to strike inside Russian territory near the Kharkiv region.
