On January 5, Ukrainian citizens were unable to take off on the Almaty-Kyiv flight due to the airport’s closure. The situation was taken under control by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

This was reported by UA.

“Last night a group of Ukrainian citizens could not take a flight” Almaty – Kyiv “due to the closure of the airport. Diplomats helped Ukrainians find places to spend the night. The embassy is currently investigating the possibility of carrying out this flight with the airport administration and the airline, and is keeping in touch with passengers” – Foreign Ministry spokesman Oleh Nikolenko said.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nur-Sultan Airport is operating normally. A flight to Kyiv is planned for today.

“We expect the Kazakh authorities to steadily guarantee the security of the citizens of Ukraine, to provide them with full assistance, including to those Ukrainians who prefer to leave the territory of Kazakhstan” – the spokesman said.

It will be recalled that the Russian Federation sent paratroopers to the Republic of Kazakhstan as part of the international peacekeeping force to deter mass rallies.
