Ukrainians are planned to be evacuated from Afghanistan

Ukrainian citizens who want to evacuate stay in Afghanistan. And Ukraine will continue to make efforts for their evacuation.

This was reported by Ukrinform with the reference to a statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba at an online briefing, UA writes.

“We will continue to do this (agree on the evacuation of Ukrainian citizens from Afghanistan – ed.), And the next evacuation flight, too, I think, will be organized by the Main Directorate of Intelligence, and we will help them in every way” – Kuleba said.

According to the Minister, there is no direct threat to the lives of Ukrainians. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine is constantly contact with them. Kuleba said that the last evacuation carried out by the Main Directorate of Intelligence was difficult.

“The evacuation was difficult, I’ll tell you honestly, given the situation on the ground, the need to reach an agreement with the new Afghan authorities, so that the plane could land, so that people could get on the plane, so that the plane could take off” – he added.

The Minister noted that Ukraine will continue to evacuate its citizens from Afghanistan, “because we have repeatedly said this and proved in concrete cases that Ukraine does not leave its people in trouble”.

To remind, the civilian plane from Afghanistan departed to Ukraine on September 23. According to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, there are about 100 citizens on board.
