Today, Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman asked the Verkhovna Rada to choose someone to be the new Minister for Veterans’ Affairs.

UNN reports that First Vice Prime Minister Stepan Kubiv asked the parliament on Groysman’s behalf this morning.

The new minister will be responsible for looking after veterans, including Donbas veterans and Euromaidan activists.

Groysman said that looking after veterans is the government’s most important social duty.

The Verkhovna Rada voted to create the position back in February.

In March, the Cabinet of Ministers began establishing the Ministry. Now a majority of the parliament must elect someone to head the cabinet.
