Ukrainian People’s Republic Records Digitized

“Secret” and “Top Secret” restrictions set by Soviet intelligence services meant that much of the book’s content is public for the first time.

According to the website Na Chasi, the collection of documents includes information on the formation of the Ukrainian People’s Republic, the activities of Ukrainian Special services in exile in the 1920s and 1930s, and the struggle sovereignty. The book offers details about the organizational structure, objectives, and staffing of the Special Services of the time and other security agencies.

The publication of these documents opens up new pages of the Ukrainian People’s Republic’s struggle for independence. In addition to the characteristics of the work of the special services of the UNR, the archival files of the foreign and counterintelligence departments of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic’s State Political Directorate present a picture of the Soviet totalitarian system.

The collection includes biographical information and photographs of individual organizers and heads of the Ukrainian intelligence of the time.
