Ukrainian Passport Improves Its Position in the Nomad Capitalist Global Ranking

The Ukrainian passport has moved up 21 points in the Nomad Capitalist Global Ranking (NCGR) and is now at No. 91 along with Albania.

This is stated in the company’s study, Radio Svoboda reported.

The NCGR ranks the “value” of citizenship of 199 countries and territories around the world.

The  Nomad Passport Index Rating is based on five factors: taxation, which is 30 percent of the total value; visa-free travel is 50 percent, and overall world’s perception of the country and its citizens, ability to have dual citizenship and the degree of freedom, are all 10 percent.

Ukrainian passport holders can now enter 114 countries without a visa or with a simplified visa-issuing procedure.

The top five passports include Luxembourg, Ireland, Switzerland, Portugal and Sweden.

Russia is ranked at No. 87. Belarus is at No. 127. Moldova is at No. 90. The United States is at  No. 35. Libya, Yemen, Eritrea, Iraq and Afghanistan are in the bottom five.

Ukraine is among the five countries that significantly improved their position compared to last year.

Earlier, the Director General for the consular services  of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, named new possible visa-free countries in 2018.
