Ukrainian Parliament passed a law on transplantation

Today, December 16, the Parliament of Ukraine adopted the law “On Amendments to Certain Legislative Acts of Ukraine Regulating the Issues of Transplantation of Anatomical Materials”.

UA reports this with reference to the broadcast of the meeting of the Parliament.

The document was supported by 305 MPs.

The task of the draft law №5831 is to improve and increase the effectiveness of the law of Ukraine “On transplantation of organs and other anatomical materials to humans”. Changes are being made to the law of Ukraine “On state financial guarantees of medical care”.

The document clarifies and expands a number of terms, expands the basic principles of transplantation.

The law specifies the wording that provides the basis for equality of recipients in obtaining anatomical material and allows the use of modern means of communication for the expression of the will of citizens in the sphere of transplantation. In accordance with modern needs, a list of people who can give statements of consent or disagreement to posthumous donation and more is presented.
