Ukrainian Olympic Champion Yaroslava Mahuchikh donates prize money to animal rights activists

Having won a gold medal at the Summer Olympics in Paris, Yaroslava Mahuchikh has donated over UAH 1 million of her prize money to Ukrainian animal rights organizations, including the biggest one, UAnimals, that among other things rescue animals from the war zones.

She announced it on her social media on August 15.

“Happy to help animals from all over Ukraine and support the biggest Ukrainian [animal rights ] organization in Ukraine, UAnimals,” Mahuchikh wrote on X and encouraged her followers to adopt animals from shelters.

The athlete also promised to donate money to the Armed Forces of Ukraine and psychological support funds and stressed that she was able to go to Paris and win the gold thanks to Ukrainian defenders.

On August, world record holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh won the gold medal in the women’s high jump at the Olympic Games in Paris.
