The Ukrainian Ministry of Health reports that, for the first time in three years, the State Medical Service has decided to supervise the activities of pharmacies and investigate the medical market.

Deputy Minister Roman Ilyk explained that this lack of control over pharmacies, for three years, has opened the doors to many abuses in regards to medicines, and in the medical field in general. Prices and quality of medicine have gone up and down, and sometimes certain drugs have even been counterfeit.
The official annual plan that will direct state supervision for 2018 has already been approved.

The World Bank has also declared that it will help Ukraine in reforming its health system in order to meet western standards and improve the overall welfare of the nation.
