The Ukrainian military has started testing new ultralight and maneuverable bulletproof vests, the Centre of Logistic Development and Support of Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on Facebook.
The new model was delivered to the training center of the Special Operations Forces
The new model has a rapid release system and an evacuation ball, which is the prototype of an evacuation sling. Also included are fragmentation protection load bearing equipment, which is a discharge system, and removable modules for the protection of the groin, hips and shoulders.
“The color of these test models has been changed, the anatomy of the form has been improved, there are more possibilities for adjustment, damp inserts for ventilation were added, and the area of kevlar fragmentation protection has been enlarged. Now, the discharge system along with kevlar added to it protects the soldier from fragments,” the center said.
Kevlar is a heat-resistant and strong synthetic fiber.
At this time, 95 soliders will test the vest in the field in the coming months.
