New 152 millimeter large caliber shells for the artillery system Giatsint has successfully passed one of the stages of testing, announced President Petro Poroshenko on Facebook.

“Shooting in Chernihiv region was conducted by Ukrainian gunners, and their result was assessed by the commission of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. While firing, combat fragmentation shells were used, and for the evaluation of the ballistic characteristics of the shells, an advanced ballistic radar produced by one of the NATO member states was used,” Poroshenko said.

The shells are developed and manufactured by State Concern Ukroboronprom. They will be used for firing from one of the longest-range artillery systems, Giatsint, which has a high accuracy and firing range of up to 30 kilometers.
