The Associated Press reports that a significant portion of Ukrainian units in the Kursk region are facing exhaustion. The fighting is so intense that some Ukrainian commanders are unable to evacuate their fallen soldiers. Delays in communication and poorly timed tactical decisions are costing lives, leaving the troops with little capacity for counterattacks.

According to the report, Russia has amassed over 50,000 military personnel in the region, including soldiers from North Korea.

Ukrainian forces admitted they were unprepared for Russia’s aggressive response in Kursk and are now unable to either counterattack or retreat.

“We have no other choice. We will fight here because if we simply fall back to our borders, they won’t stop—they will keep advancing,” said a commander of a drone unit.
