Following the attack by Ukrainian naval drones on Russian helicopters on the night of December 31, there has been a decrease in enemy aircraft activity over the Black Sea. This was reported by the spokesman for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk.
Two Russian helicopters were hit by Ukrainian Magura drones.
This forced the occupiers to reduce the number of flights in the region.
Pletenchuk’s direct speech:
“The number of sorties has decreased slightly, but the Russians are still forced to use helicopters for anti-drone warfare – this is their main task.”
Russia cannot abandon helicopter patrols, as it is the only way available to them to counter Ukrainian maritime drones.
Despite the downward trend in activity, the occupiers maintain control over the airspace over Crimea and part of the Black Sea, which complicates the actions of the Defense Forces.
Ukrainian maritime drones, which have already demonstrated their effectiveness, can change the dynamics of air and sea confrontation. This once again emphasizes the need to develop technologies and tactics to strengthen Ukraine’s position in the region.
