This was stated by the head of the Directorate General for consular service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Serhii Pohoreltsev, according to Yevropeiska Pravda.

“We are counting on the result soon, and we are doing our best to reach the ‘number 100’ named by the president, so that Ukrainians with biometric passports could travel without a visa to 100 countries of the world. This can be achieved,”  he said responding to the question of the possibility of achieving the number of “100 countries” in 2018.

“We are working with virtually all countries of the White Schengen list and I can assure you that there will be results. In particular, we are negotiating with the Gulf states – Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Saudi Arabia,”  the diplomat said.

In addition, according to the diplomat, the Foreign Ministry aims to reciprocate visa waivers with Colombia, Uruguay and Peru. “There are drafts of visa-free agreements with the Bahamas, Vanuatu, Kiribati, the Marshall Islands, Palau, Samoa, Solomon Islands, and Trinidad and Tobago, as well as with larger states – Mexico, Thailand,” Pohoreltsev said. The diplomat clarified that visa-free travel isn’t discussed in all occasions. For example, an opportunity of obtaining visa upon arrival in the airport is discussed with Qatar.
