The Ukrainian Defense Forces are making progress in the southern direction, and therefore the Russian occupiers fear that Ukraine will block access to the Zaporozhia group. General of the Ukrainian Army, former head of the Foreign Intelligence Service of Ukraine (2005-2010) Mykola Malomuzh spoke about this on the FREEDOM TV channel.
“In the south we are moving forward and breaking through the situation gradually, step by step, difficultly, but still we are moving in the southern direction. Therefore, the enemy was already afraid that we would block the southern front and, in general, the entire eastern logistics route to the Zaporizhzhia group. It is impossible to block everything, especially since the front is 1,250 kilometers – it is practically impossible to cover,” he said.
According to Malomuzh, the Russian occupiers do not have the opportunity to create any large strike groups unnoticed by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
“We have data from space reconnaissance, aerial reconnaissance, radar reconnaissance, drone reconnaissance, operational reconnaissance, human intelligence, so we know everything that is moving and where it is going. We try to strike powerfully on the march, that is, when the enemy moves to a particular point or sector,” the general said.
He noted that a powerful operation is being carried out in the Kherson direction, where the Russian occupiers are suffering heavy losses. The Ukrainian Defense Forces are expanding their bridgeheads even in difficult conditions.
“We are inflicting heavy losses. I do not assume that even in winter they will be able to make any breakthroughs anywhere. Moreover, we are now strengthening the main directions of attack by strengthening positions and by destroying very powerful groups. This, as we said, is Kupyansk, and Svatove-Kreminna, this is Bakhmut, this is Avdiivka. Well, in total we hand over 700 – 1,200 people who were liquidated in one day, and how many were wounded. That is, these are huge losses. If we talk about a month, then there are more than 12 enemy brigades. This is a major undermining of defense capability. Therefore, it is almost impossible to recruit any new contingents, especially those who are not trained, and move them in any direction. Moreover, now we are ready for any scenario. Accordingly, we are carrying out a very powerful cleansing of enemy contingents in different directions. And this creates prospects for the spring and summer for conducting strategic offensive operations,” emphasized Mykola Malomuzh.
Let us remind you that over the past 24 hours, Ukrainian aviation carried out strikes on 12 areas where enemy personnel were concentrated.
