February 24, Ukrainian military try to repel with Russian invasion on the outskirts of Sumy city. The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine informs about it.
“Border guards with the Armed Forces and the National Guard entered into the clash with the Russian occupiers on the outskirts of Sumy. The Ukrainian forces are defending. According to the available information, Russia is carrying out an offensive from the village of Konotop,” the Interior Ministry said.
At the same time, Sumy governor Dmytro Zhyvytskyi stated that the Russian forces have already entered Sumy.
“Today, the occupying forces control the route from the border with the Russian Federation, the Kyiv-Moscow route, and to the Chernihiv region,” he said.
“Currently, according to our information, the military, and equipment, have already entered the city of Sumy,” the official said.

Today at 5:00 pm, Russian President Vladimir Putin started a military operation in Donbas and called on the Ukrainian army to lay down its arms.
Ukraine imposed nationwide martial law.
