Ukraine Takes Second in European Sumo Wrestling

Ukraine’s national team took second place in the European Sumo Championship in Estonia.

It was among the 14 participating countries, the Ministry of Youth and Sports wrote.

The Ukrainian team of adult athletes received three gold, nine silver, and seven bronze medals. In the youth under-21 age group,” Ukrainians won five gold, six silver and five bronze medals. Young people under-23 years old won five gold, eight silver, and six bronze medals.

The champions were:

  • Among adults : Alina Duzhenko, Maxim Tsybulnyak and Marina Maksimenko
  • Youth under 21 : Odintsova Valeria, Nikitinsky Elena, Grebenchuk Irina, Karachenko Demid and Daiahuri Vazha
  • Youth up to 23 years old : Tolstova Alena, Nikitinsky Elena, Yavgusishin Daniel and Daiauri Vazha

In addition, a gold was brought home by the men’s team, consisting of Ursaki Alexander, Semikras Svyatoslav, Daiariri Vazhi, and Khlyustina Anatoly.
