A Ukrainian delegation will take part in the special session of the Conference of the States Parties of the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.

This is according to the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

The conference will consider cases of the use of chemical weapons in Syria, Iraq, Malaysia and the United Kingdom, as well as the establishment of mechanisms for preventing such uses in the future.

“Participation of the delegation in the event is in line with the position of Ukraine on the prevention of the use of chemical weapons and bringing the perpetrators to responsibility, as well as on the activities of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) in general,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine informed.

It is expected that the discussions at the session will focus on the draft decision of the Conference, which was recently announced by the United Kingdom.

The event will be held on June 26-28 in The Hague.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine and Georgia will have a joint session at July’s NATO Summit.
