Ukraine’s state defense company Ukroboronprom and the French firm Thales International SAS have signed a memorandum to create a joint enterprise.
Ukraine’s Minister for Strategic Industries Herman Smetanin announced this on Telegram, Ukrinform reports.
“We are starting a new day at the Munich Security Conference with the signing of an important document. Ukroboronprom and Thales International SAS have agreed to establish a joint venture and have formalized their commitments on paper,” Smetanin wrote.
According to him, the new enterprise will focus on developing advanced technological solutions to strengthen air defense, radar systems, electronic warfare (EW), tactical communications, and electro-optical systems.
“Ukraine’s defense industry has been cooperating with Thales for a long time, and I am pleased that this partnership is now deepening into a joint venture,” Smetanin added.
