Ukraine has a higher percentage of readiness for NATO membership than many Eastern European countries that were part of the North Atlantic Alliance in peacetime. This was announced today, October 25, by the head of the Public League “Ukraine-NATO” Serhiy Dzherzh on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel.

According to him, NATO standards are nothing new for Ukraine.

“At one time, Ukraine participated in many NATO and European Union missions, missions of the United Nations, OSCE. All these structures, if they form some kind of security and missions, use NATO standards, so for our Ministry of Defense there is nothing new in this,” noted George.

The head of the Civic League pointed out that it is another thing to spread these standards more widely to the entire army in general.

“It’s happening now, during the war, it’s happening even faster. The system of reforming decision-making management, the system of logistical support, military medicine — all this is changing, of course. I think that even in this state today, we have, perhaps, an even higher percentage of readiness for NATO membership than many Eastern European countries that were part of the Alliance during peacetime,” he said.

Dzherzhd believes that the issue of Ukraine’s accession to NATO will have a political nature, some countries need time to make decisions.
