Ukrainian Preisdent Volodymyr Zelenskyy tends to believe that the United Kingdom leadership could contribute to lifting bans on the use of Western weapons by Ukraine.

He said this as he appealed to the UK Cabinet on July 19, according to ITV News.

“Russia uses about 3,500 guided bombs per month, and it’s impossible to shoot them all down. But it’s possible to destroy all the bomb carriers, and I ask you to show your leadership in this. And please, convince the other partners to remove the limits”, Zelenskyy emphasized.

President Zelenskyy is the first world leader to address the UK Cabinet since U.S. President Bill Clinton did it in 1997.

“This is a very, very important meeting for us and you’re very welcome here. It is a real pleasure and a privilege to be able to welcome you to Downing Street this morning. This is a real piece of history,” Keir Starmer commented on Zelenskyy’s address.

Previously, the UK government stated that Ukraine was to decide how to use UK-made arms on its own but taking international law into consideration.
