Ukraine received $3.9 billion under USA World Bank project

Ukraine has received a grant worth $3.9 billion from the United States via the World Bank program.

This was announced by Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal on X.

“These funds will be used to finance priority budget expenditures such as the salaries of teachers, rescue workers and social benefits,” Ukrainian PM explained.

According to him, Ukraine will receive $7.8 billion overall in direct budget support from the U.S. in 2024.

On August 1, Finance Minister Serhii Marchenko and World Bank Regional Director Bob Saum signed a financial agreement on the first tranche of $3.9 billion from the U.S.
