A sovereign Ukraine, which is able to defend itself from Russian aggression, means a safer Poland.
This was stated by the head of the Polish government, Donald Tusk, via X, Ukrinform reports.
“A sovereign and pro-Western Ukraine, which is able to defend itself from Russian aggression, means a stronger and safer Poland. In the conditions of political upheaval and expanding chaos, this is the most important thing. Anyone who questions this obvious truth contributes to Putin’s triumph. Is that clear?” Tusk emphasized.
Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Pawel Wronski said during a briefing on Tuesday that the situation surrounding the reported suspension of U.S. assistance to Ukraine is “very serious.” He noted that the decision was made without any briefings or consultations with either NATO allies or the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which deals with issues of providing military assistance to Ukraine.
In this context, he emphasized that Poland’s position is that Warsaw “continues to support Ukraine, which is countering Russian aggression.”
According to the the official, the Polish Council of Ministers will react to the reported U.S. decision to suspend military aid to Ukraine after a government meeting on Tuesday.
As reported in the media with reference to a high-ranking official in the US Department of Defense, Donald Trump ordered to put on pause all military aid to Ukraine.
At the same time, no official confirmation of U.S. assistance being suspended came from the White House or the Pentagon.
