Vineta Kleine, Director of the NATO Information and Documentation Center in Ukraine, assessed the process of introducing the alliance’s standards in Ukraine.
It is reported by UA with the reference to Radio Liberty.
“The work on this is being carried out quite actively and dynamically. And Ukraine is doing everything to follow NATO standards and principles and implement them here” – said Vineta Kleine.
The representative of the North Atlantic Alliance did not answer directly the question whether Ukraine is already ready to become part of NATO. Kleine said that the country is still on the way to Euro-Atlantic integration.
“Ukraine is on the way to full implementation of NATO standards. This is a deep process of Euro-Atlantic integration. The process that every country goes through. Let me remind you that I am from Latvia. I worked in the Ministry of Defense when my country was overcoming the path that Ukraine is now (overcoming). This is a long journey, and extensive work on a common roadmap and shared values” – Kleine emphasized.
To remind, the photo exhibition “NATO-Ukraine: Common Values, Common Path” opened at Boryspil International Airport on October 1.
