Ukraine needs to increase supply of weapons, hopes for active participation of Olaf Scholz in this matter, – Zelensky’s office adviser Mykhailo Podolyak

Ukraine needs the supply of as many modern weapons as possible and hopes for the active participation of Federal Chancellor of Germany Olaf Scholz in this matter. Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mykhailo Podolyak stated this in an interview with Tagesspiegel.

Mykhailo Podolyak noted that the German Chancellor’s statements indicate his intentions to change relations with Russia.

“Germany must now take a different path, understand what Russia really is. It is a fact that we need more weapons,” said the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

According to him, Ukraine needs the supply of long-range artillery and MLRS, which will make it possible to effectively eliminate the enemy’s logistical and material-technical warehouses.

In addition, Mykhailo Podolyak emphasized the importance of increasing the number of unmanned aerial vehicles.

“Anti-aircraft systems, such as IRIS-T, concerning which Germany has announced readiness to supply to better protect our cities from air attack. We need more of them to protect at least Kyiv, Kharkiv, Dnipro, Mykolaiv and Odesa,” added the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President.

Mykhailo Podolyak noted that Ukraine needs to increase the number of armored vehicles in order to advance deep into the territories controlled by the enemy after the retreat of Russia.

The Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President emphasized that one of the reasons for the termination of negotiations with the Russian Federation was the atrocities committed by the occupiers in Bucha.

According to him, Russia wants to freeze the conflict for six months in order to bring new troops and weapons to the frontline.

“If the West gets tired of the war, Russia will strike again with all its might,” Mykhailo Podolyak said.

He emphasized that Ukraine must make efforts to return as many occupied territories as possible, especially in the southern part of the country.

“The more and faster we get heavy weapons, the sooner we will be able to stop this war,” the Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President noted.

Mykhailo Podolyak noted that Ukraine’s victory will be the return of all territories within internationally recognized borders.
