Ukraine might announce mandatory evacuation from territories around Zaporizhia NPP, – Deputy PM

Mandatory evacuation may be announced from the territories around the Zaporizhia NPP, as the situation at the plant becomes tenser. Minister of Reintegration, Deputy PM Iryna Vereshchuk on the air of the telethon.

Minister Vereshchuk noted that if the decision on mandatory evacuation from the area around the ZNPP is taken, then it will certainly take place.

“We are waiting for the decision of the regional administration, they have special commissions. This applies to certain areas of the Kharkiv and Zaporizhia regions. As for the ZNPP, if the decision is made, then the evacuation will take place,” she said.

Recall, earlier it was reported that in recent days there has been a trend that residents of the occupied Energodar are trying to leave for the controlled territory of Ukraine.

We wrote that Russian troops continue to intensively shell the territories around the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant. In this connection, one of the reactors was disconnected from the network.

As reported, the IAEA mission led by Rafael Grossi arrived in Ukraine and visited the Zaporizhia NPP captured by the Russians on September 1.

The ZNNP, Europe’s largest nuclear power plant, has been captured by the Russian military since March 4, the invaders have placed military equipment and ammunition in the plant’s territory and have been shelling the surrounding area.

The United Nations, the United States, and Ukraine called on the Russian Federation to withdraw military equipment and personnel from the nuclear facility.
