The armed forces of Ukraine continue the war of attrition against the Russian invaders and destroy the transport arteries in the south of Ukraine. The explosion on the Crimean bridge is a good example of a strike on such infrastructure. This was announced on the air of the FREEDOM TV channel by the head of the joint press center of the operational command “South” Natalia Humeniuk.
“We keep the temporarily occupied territory under fire control. We carry out activities that deplete the enemy,” – she said.
Humeniuk commented on the explosion on the Crimean bridge.
“Many people are tired of everything that was started around the Crimean bridge, the Crimea, and further around the south of Ukraine, and the entire occupied territory. Therefore, this “fatigue” had to sort of find an outlet for itself. These emotions had to erupt somewhere. And it is torn, as you know, where it is thin, ” – she explained.
In the Kherson direction, the Russian invaders are unsuccessfully probing the positions of the Ukrainian forces.
“The Russians call the sortie of three sabotage groups an attempt at a counteroffensive, but this is closer to propaganda channels. From our side, it looked like an attempt by three motorized rifle platoons, supported by tanks, to test the density of our positions. Having received a fire rebuff, the groups returned to their positions and are now looking for opportunities to change the line of defense, to deepen their defense. We are moving forward, they are deepening, ” – the expert emphasized.
The head of the joint press center recalled that the Russian invaders had been pulling up resources to the southern front for a long time: manpower, ammunition, and equipment.
“A lot of work had to be done to weaken these positions. The enemy continues to repair damaged transport arteries. They understand that they will have to move to the left bank of the Dnieper. But what happened to the Crimean bridge is a good example that such transport arteries will not work,” – Natalia Humeniuk emphasized.
Earlier, the destruction of the Crimean bridge was commented on in the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Earlier, on October 8, a powerful fire broke out on the Crimean bridge, which connects Russia and the temporarily occupied Crimea, after an explosion.
