The Heads of State and Government of the European Union adopted a decision to grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for EU membership.
This is stated in the released conclusions of the European Council, adopted at the summit in Brussels based on the results of consideration of the applications for EU membership filed by Ukraine, Moldova, and Georgia, an Ukrinform correspondent reports.
“The European Council has decided to grant candidate status to Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova,” the document reads.
