Due to the massive Russian missile attack on Ukraine today, July 8, Ukraine is initiating the convening of an emergency meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced this during a joint press conference with Donald Tusk, FREEDOM reports.

Zelenskyy said that Russia struck Kyiv, Kryvyi Rih, Dnieper and the cities of the Donetsk region. There is an admission to the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in Kyiv. He called for working together to hold Russia accountable for terror and Putin accountable for ordering the strikes.

“Russia responds to everything they try to talk to him about about peace with strikes on houses and hospitals. That is why we can only force Russia to peace, only together we can do this, everyone in the world who really wants peace. This requires sufficient support, sufficient determination and truly joint action,” the president emphasized.

Meanwhile, UN humanitarian coordinator in Ukraine Denise Brown condemned the attack.

“This is a shameless attack because children are killed and injured in this war. Hospitals have special protection under international humanitarian law. Civilians must be protected,” said Denise Brown.

Let us remind you that the Russian army launched a massive missile attack on Ukraine on July 8, firing more than 40 missiles of various types. Kyiv, Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Sloviansk, and Kramatorsk were under attack.

At the Okhmatdyt children’s hospital in the capital, rescuers, doctors and ordinary citizens are clearing away the rubble, under which there may still be people. It is already known that 16 people were injured in the hospital shelling, seven of whom were children.
