Lithuania supports Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
This was stated by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a press conference with Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda, informs UATV.
According to the head of the state, today actions were coordinated to update the Association Agreement and further integration of Ukraine into the European Union.
“Lithuania’s support for Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations is important. Today we coordinated actions to update the Association Agreement and further integrate Ukraine into the European Union. For this purpose, a very important document was signed – the Declaration on Supporting Ukraine’s European Perspective. “The Republic of Lithuania supports Ukraine when Ukraine decides to apply for EU membership,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He said that Ukraine’s full membership in the EU should not be postponed.
“Ukraine in the EU is not a fantastic distant dream, it is a strategic, achievable goal that we want to realize as soon as possible, forming a broad coalition of EU countries, in the good sense of the word, will become lobbyists for Ukraine on this difficult way,” the president added.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky called on the EU to impose sanctions for human rights violations in the occupied Crimea.
