The Cabinet of Ministers has suspended the agreement between Ukraine and Russia on cooperation in the sphere of tourism.

Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko announced this in his Telegram, UATV informs.

According to him, the agreement was signed yet in 1999.

“Since then, a lot has changed. In particular, the Russian Federation has gotten too carried away with the implementation of Article 4 of this agreement. That is, the parties will encourage organized group, and individual tourism and even specialized groups. These group, individual and specialized “tourists” came to Crimea and Donbass without demand and began destroying our culture, architecture, economy, language. Adn started taking the lives of people”, – the minister writes.

Tkachenko noted that the termination of the agreement is a reason to focus on domestic Ukrainian tourism.

“We have something to look at and show to the guests of the country. But only to those who comply with the laws and international norms,” – he added.

To remind, Cyprus opens its borders to travelers from Ukraine starting from April 1, 2021.

Foreign minister Dmytro Kuleba has also announced the possibility of simplifying the visa regime between Ukraine and the United Kingdom.
