The bill equates a digital biometric passport and an ID card in the Diia mobile application to ordinary passports legally.

The ministry adds that from August 23, 2021, Ukrainians will only have to have a digital passport in their smartphone for any life situation.

“Digital passports will be in use on the territory of Ukraine for identification and confirmation of citizenship, except for cases of crossing the state border, entering the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and leaving it,” the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine.
