Ukraine controls 74 settlements in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation

Despite the difficult, intense battles, the advance of Ukrainian forces in the Kursk region continues, the exchange fund for Ukraine is replenished. This was reported today, August 13, by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrskyi during a report to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The head of state noted that he is constantly in touch with the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) Oleksandr Syrskyi, from whom he receives reports on the front and the Ukrainian operation in the Kursk region.

“The Armed Forces of Ukraine continue to conduct an operation on the territory of the Kursk region. Over the past 24 hours, our troops have advanced in certain directions from 1 km to 3 km, taking control over 40 sq. km of territory. Today, 74 settlements are under our control. Battles are being fought along the entire front line, the situation, despite the high intensity of hostilities, is under control,” Oleksandr Syrskyi reported to the president.

Zelenskyy thanked the Ukrainian defenders for their heroic service.

“Thank you for replenishing our exchange fund, this is important – we will be able to exchange for our guys, for our military,” he said.

The president also asked to continue training and developing the next steps, to which Syrskyi responded that all activities are being carried out in accordance with the plan.

Earlier, on August 12, during a meeting of the Headquarters of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Olexander Syrskyi said that Ukraine controls almost 1 thousand square kilometers of Russian territory.
