The US has signaled that it will not object to Ukraine hitting military targets inside Russian territory.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said this during a press conference in Stockholm.

“We received a message from the US. Today, early in the morning, I was informed [about it] by our military personnel. I can’t provide any details but I am looking forward to seeing how it will work out,” Zelenskyy stated.

Previously, POLITICO reported that Biden gave Ukraine “quiet” approval to strike inside Russian territory near the Kharkiv region. This way, Ukraine will be able to eliminate military facilites and personnel amassing in Russia’s Belgorod and Kursk regions for new offensives.

“The president recently directed his team to ensure that Ukraine is able to use U.S. weapons for counter-fire purposes in Kharkiv so Ukraine can hit back at Russian forces hitting them or preparing to hit them,” one of the U.S. officials said, according to the media.

However, the US still pursues the policy of not allowing long-range strikes inside Russia.
