Ukraine intends to develop health and business tourism with Saudi Arabia and the Arabian Gulf countries, considering this area promising.

This was stated by the head of the State Agency for Tourism Development of Ukraine Mariana Oleskiv during a press conference in Ukrinform on the topic: “MMP Forum 2021 – International Forum for Professionals in Business Tourism, Meeting Industry and Conference Service”, UA reports.

Oleskiv considers the development of tourism with Saudi Arabia very promising. According to her, 41,000 citizens of this country visited Ukraine in just three summer months of 2021, which is 10 times more than in the whole of 2019.

“This autumn, we plan to host several tours of bloggers and media from Saudi Arabia to show destinations for both health and business tourism, the conference industry, so that companies from the Arabian Gulf can come to us for such conferences” – she said.

The head of the State Agency for Tourism Development noted that work is underway to liberalize the visa regime not only for citizens but also for all residents of the Arabian Gulf countries.

“To give way to this direction, it is necessary to liberalize the visa regime for residents of the Arabian Gulf countries who work there, but are not citizens of these countries and today have a rather complicated process of obtaining a visa. We are working with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine and the Office of President of Ukraine to simplify the possibilities for obtaining such visas, because thanks to this we will get larger groups of business tourists to hold conferences in Ukraine” – she said.

Oleskiv also noted that most tourists from Saudi Arabia not only stay in Kyiv, but also travel to Western Ukraine. Therefore, the State Agency for Tourism Development plans to show them opportunities for all-season health recreation in this region.
