Ukraine and Israel discussed the current economic situation, the pension system in Ukraine and bilateral cooperation between the countries in the fields of information technology and investment.

This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Finance, UA reports.

On October 26, the Minister of Finance of Ukraine Serhiy Marchenko met with the newly appointed Ambassador of Israel to Ukraine Michael Brodsky.

The parties discussed the current economic situation, the pension system in Ukraine and bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Israel, in particular in the fields of information technology, investment and exchange of experience between the Ministries of Finance.

Serhiy Marchenko and Michael Brodsky considered possible cooperation and exchange of experience between the Ministries of Finance of Ukraine and Israel in the areas of fiscal policy and the functioning of startup funds. The parties also discussed the pension system of Ukraine and possible options for its reform.

“Today, there are approximately 11 million pensioners and 9.7 million working Ukrainians who pay the Single Social Contribution. These funds of taxpayers are not enough to provide all pensions, which leads to a deficit of the pension fund. We should create all the conditions for a voluntary accumulative pension to improve the pension provision of citizens” – Marchenko said.

To remind, just over a month Ukraine lost almost 3 billion dollars of reserves.
