UK and Latvia open bidding for enterprises to provide FPV drones to Ukraine

To provide Ukraine with highly effective on the battlefield drones, the defence ministries of the UK and Latvia have launched a tender.

This was announced on the official website of the UK government.

“This competition aims to produce these drones at scale and at an affordable price point, leveraging the strength of Western industry,” reads the official statement.

Companies can apply until June 28 2024, their applications will be evaluated by the Drone Capability Coalition members.

This initiative is implemented within the Drone Capability Coalition, led by the UK and Latvia. Hence, manufacturers from any country in the Ukraine Defence Contact Group can take part. As of now, the UK, Latvia, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Estonia, Germany, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, and Ukraine are among those.

In February, the UK and Latvia announced that they were willing to lead the new Drone Capability Coalition.
