The Ukrainian side has not yet received the requested documents and information in the case of Iran’s downing of an UIA plane.

This is reported by UA with reference to the statement of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine.

Thus, the Ministry took note of the information about the beginning of hearings in the military court of Iran on the downing of the UIA plane, and also expresses gratitude for the invitation of the Ambassador of Ukraine to take part in this meeting.

“However, as of today, requests for international legal assistance in criminal proceedings, sent by Ukraine to the competent authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, have not been fully complied with, the requested documents and information have not been provided by the Iranian side” – the ministry said.

In this regard, the Foreign Ministry considers it inappropriate for the Ambassador of Ukraine to the Islamic Republic of Iran to participate in a formal court hearing where the indictment will be read.

“We call on Iran to fulfill its obligations under international law and provide the requested information to the competent Ukrainian authorities” – the Foreign Ministry added.

To remind, 176 people died in the crash.
