Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the United States has provided approximately $183 billion in aid to Ukraine, with $65.9 billion allocated for military support, according to the Pentagon.
This information was reported by Voice of America, citing data from the Pentagon and an interagency oversight group responsible for reporting to Congress.
The Pentagon confirmed that the U.S. has sent $65.9 billion in military aid to Ukraine. Additionally, $3.9 billion approved by Congress remains unspent.
“About $58 billion of the total $183 billion in aid to Ukraine was spent within the United States.
These funds were directed either toward strengthening the American defense industry—by replacing old weapons sent to Kyiv with new U.S.-made equipment—or through direct investments in the industry,” the report states.
The publication also reached out to the White House for a comment regarding former President Donald Trump’s claims about a “mathematical discrepancy” in the reported U.S. spending on Ukraine.
In response, the White House cited Trump himself.
“The moderately successful comedian Volodymyr Zelenskyy convinced the United States of America to spend $350 billion on a war that cannot be won, that should never have started, but a war that he will never be able to settle without the U.S. and Trump,” Trump wrote on his social media platform, Truth Social.
