The United States has delivered the largest shipment of arms to Germany since the beginning of the 21st century.

“This is the largest party of this kind after the” Union Force “operation (NATO Operation against Yugoslavia from March 24 to June 10, 1999, which became the final stage of the Kosovo War),” Head of Military Operations David Hed said.

About 100 containers of military equipment were delivered to the Ramstein air base in Germany, Espresso reported with reference to the base’s website.

The ammunition will be used to support the “European Initiative for the Prevention of Danger” and will complement the military reserve aircraft of the Air Force in Europe. The program to strengthen the U.S. military presence in Europe was triggered by Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014 and continued hostilities in eastern Ukraine.

The Rammstein Airbase is the largest American Air Force base stationed outside the U.S. It is also the headquarters of the U.S. Air Force in Europe.

The U.S. also plans to provide cyber weapons to NATO allies.
