US President Donald Trump has promised Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelenskyy to cooperate with him in finding Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine.

This was reported by the White House following a conversation between the US and Ukrainian presidents.

According to the White House, during the phone conversation, the leaders agreed that “Ukraine and America will continue to work together to achieve a real end to the war,” and that under Trump’s leadership “a lasting peace can be achieved.”

It is noted that Zelenskyy asked for an additional air defense system to protect civilians, including Patriot systems.

“President Trump has agreed to work with him to find what is available, particularly in Europe,” the White House said.

The American president also “fully briefed” Zelenskyy on his conversation with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin.

“They discussed the situation in the Kursk region and agreed to closely exchange information between their defense departments as the situation on the battlefield evolves,” the White House added.

Trump called the conversation with Zelenskyy “very good” and added that much of the conversation was based on his conversation with Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin yesterday “to align the needs and requirements of Russia and Ukraine.”

Zelenskyy said that they agreed to discuss the technical details of a partial ceasefire, which would include no more attacks on energy and civilian infrastructure.
