U.S. President Donald Trump believes that the head of Russia, Vladimir Putin, is deliberately delaying the ceasefire process and is planning “aggressive” sanctions against Moscow.

Fox News correspondent Jacqui Heinrich reported this on her X page, citing her own sources.

According to her, Trump is disappointed with Putin and believes that Russia is “slowly negotiating a comprehensive ceasefire.” Therefore, a “path forward” is currently being discussed.

The Fox News journalist also noted that the Trump administration rates the effectiveness of current sanctions at 3 out of 10 and, as a result, the U.S. president plans to impose “aggressive” sanctions that could target Russia’s shadow fleet.

During negotiations with the U.S. in Saudi Arabia on March 11, Ukraine expressed its willingness to accept the U.S. proposal for an immediate 30-day ceasefire. According to the Office of the President, the U.S. will inform Russia of this initiative.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Kyiv is ready for a ceasefire. However, he emphasized that it will only take effect once Russia agrees to it. Russian leader Vladimir Putin responded that Moscow agrees with the proposals to halt hostilities but said there are still issues that need to be discussed.
